“Rabbi Tarfon said: It is not incumbent upon you to finish the task. Yet, you are not free to desist from it.”— (Pirkei Avot 2:21)
Tikun Olam (Repairing the World) is a primary mission of the Jewish people. It is a communal obligation therefore we encourage our members to participate in the programs that Beth Israel supports.
We believe that we are not only responsible for creating a model society among ourselves but also are responsible for the welfare of the society at large.
One of our goals as a congregation is “to improve the world” through our Judaism and participation in our community.
If we commit to create a better congregation, a better neighborhood and a better society, finally we will be helping to improve the world.
